Our Philosophy
Our approach to children's education is one that combines intergenerational connections with set times for age-specific instruction. Through our small group ministry, children spend time in a setting with adults who have the opportunity to model the faith before them. Sunday School meets at 9:00 AM in the fall and spring. Adult classes are open to anyone who has reached the age of twelve, which creates opportunities for intergenerational discipleship.
Sunday School
We recognize the need to give children and youth opportunities to learn among their peers with age-specific instruction. Sunday School meets at 9:00 AM in the fall and spring.
Sunday School classes are available for children ages 0-11. Children 12 years old and up attend intergenerational classes with their parents. The religious education of children is primarily the responsibility of their parents. Therefore, we do not view our children's Sunday School as a replacement for instruction in the home but as a ministry to help facilitate the religious education of children. Our children's classes are centered on Scripture, theologically rich, and entirely consistent with our Statement of Faith. We provide an environment where children can grow and learn as they are being prepared to join their parents in adult classes at the age of 12.
Scheduled Gatherings & Youth
On scheduled Sunday night gatherings, children may have opportunities to review their Sunday morning lessons, learn and sing songs together, and talk about the mission Christ has given us to take the gospel to all nations of the world. Youth from ages 12-18 also have opportunities to study the Bible together as a group through scheduled gatherings and planned youth retreats.
