In the New Testament, deacons were publicly recognized church officers who were given authority to oversee some aspect of the physical needs of the church and were entrusted with the resources of the church to carry out their duties (see Acts 6:1-7; 1 Timothy 3:8-13). At Cornerstone, our deacons serve in various capacities to help ensure that the elders can devote their full attention to the ministry of the Word of God and prayer.
